I just wanted to point out it's very easy to reach that power level on a stocker with something like a procharger.
A few simple changes like you made, and you can excede that level as you have done.

A great example of a route Basham can take and keep stock like drivability.

That route is also more expensive...

I just got my quote back for my Procharger and it was 11K+....8500 just in parts.

How do you like the 4.10 with the S/C? I am thinking I'm going to want a 3.73 or even 3.42. I have 4.11 now.

They are fun but useless lol... I got the rear for $1500 used and those where the gears that were on there. Im switching to 3.73s. 4th gear tops out at 125mph @ 6700rpm. Not enough MPH for me as i cross the 1/4 @ 128 and dont like to shift to 5th.

Edit: This is with a 25.5 in tall tire

Plus first goes by so damn quick that as soon as you hit the throttle you are shifting already lol

Hello my name Josh and im new to the site ,, I was reading this thread and thought it was pretty interesting,, I read through most of the posts and built and engine on paper that consisted of a new 6.0 block (aluminum) with all new bearings (rod, mains, cam) and machining ,head gaskets (w/head bolts and other gaskets), pistons, rods (used low milers off ebay)w/new ARP rod-bolts and Hastings rings, new ls2 chain kit, oil pump, and lifter trays,,also w/ valve job and Patriot springs came to $3670.00 with assembly labor..,,Even with pulling the motor and install it would be around 4670.00..to the o/p just an idea, let me know if i can help . nice to meet you all

Yes it is,,,but Basham wants 500 rwhp and a smooth idle. Can't have both without spending alot of green backs

this T/A is the fastest car ive driven so no i havent touched anything over 320
and now learning that long blocks are what i need to be looking at...
i looked some more. i think ive narrowed to 3
    402/408 stroker or the 402 LS2 or the 383 LS1?
Most expensive is the 402/408 and cheapest is the 383
as for options...im stumped. so opinions please

Lets re-due my goals shall we?
lets shoot for 400-450ish? cam'd if needed (preferibly small)
i guess i got a little blood thirsty after getting beat by that Z06
(plan for boost in 5 years ***possibly***)

and during that five years...rear tranny blah blah blah

With that power goal in mind, the crate LS6 will get you close with headers, exhaust and a tune, and it's cheaper than anything you have listed.
If you want a tad more power, you could stab in a smallish cam before you install the engine.

From there the price goes up.
