Exactly. I let the garage dust fall on mine and simply rinse it off. Another thing that won't touch my finish are those car dusters.

I am sure about that. I've used many different brands of clay bars and have always gotten the same results.

That's why I only put it on after I wash it. As a matter of fact, it's been uncovered for a few days because I forgot to put it on and I need to wash it again before I do. It's been windy.

I also dust it off before putting it back on after I drive it.

We've got phone lines over our driveway and a few trees which means birds galore out here. My car is a target. So, covering it up it best for me. I have two quality covers so always have a clean one when needed.

I can't just rinse my car off. It turns into a project. Like I said, super hard water out here.

Well sometimes dust can still get between the cover and the paint even when covered up and clean. Lucky you have a white car wink wink or you'd see far more than you think hun.. Dark colors show every little imperfection. After spending hours upon hours cleaning and polishing, then more hours getting every body panel within 3mm's or less I go nuts if I find a scuff lol...

Nope, I haven't and I've never had any marring of any kind using any of the clay bar brands I've used before. As long as I've kept the clay and surface lubricated enough, they've all worked just fine for me.

You still get scratches and swirlies, so they're still doing something to the finish.

We have hard water here too. I pull mine out in the driveway, hose it down and it immediately goes back into the garage to be dried off.

Oh, I know. We've got I think 3 compressors left (I talked him into selling at least 2. A few more and other crap and I may get my car in the garage ) So, I'll blow it off before I cover it. But, yeah, I know there is still dirt and dust on it. I only drive it maybe once a week. It's a driveway queen

Garages are for vehicles, not crap. Crap is what storage centers or warehouses are for.

You don't think that has been part of my argument?

It's mostly a bunch of studio equipment and road boxes full of tools and crap.

I'm doing the best I can.

Equipment like that deserves climate controlled storage. Use that excuse sometime.
