Car covers and Bra's are the bad for your paint. They act like sand paper if dust gets between them and your paint.

I am sure about that. I've used many different brands of clay bars and have always gotten the same results.

Not too sure about that- I used 4star claybar with PLENTY of lube and it still micro marred the small section I did. Not sure if they make more aggressive clay or what.

Oh, you use a car cover on it? Taking that on and off would explain the scratches then.

I also dust it off before putting it back on after I drive it.

We've got phone lines over our driveway and a few trees which means birds galore out here. My car is a target. So, covering it up it best for me. I have two quality covers so always have a clean one when needed.

Well sometimes dust can still get between the cover and the paint even when covered up and clean. Lucky you have a white car wink wink or you'd see far more than you think hun.. Dark colors show every little imperfection. After spending hours upon hours cleaning and polishing, then more hours getting every body panel within 3mm's or less I go nuts if I find a scuff lol...

Do you mean the "micro marring" Sig? Ever try 4 star?

Nope, I haven't and I've never had any marring of any kind using any of the clay bar brands I've used before. As long as I've kept the clay and surface lubricated enough, they've all worked just fine for me.

You still get scratches and swirlies, so they're still doing something to the finish.

Oh, I know. We've got I think 3 compressors left (I talked him into selling at least 2. A few more and other crap and I may get my car in the garage ) So, I'll blow it off before I cover it. But, yeah, I know there is still dirt and dust on it. I only drive it maybe once a week. It's a driveway queen
