I'll shoot you a Pm with the shop I used for my Moser 12 bolt. The price was pretty good caompared to others, and the owner called me to double check the order before processing. Very knowlegable and professional.
As for the install, it went just about flawlessly. I had a problem with the parking brake cable bracket, but that's it. A little grinding, and it went right on. You also may have to grind one corner of your torque arm if it's aftermarket. Again, no big deal. The ABS and traction control work perfect, and the factory dirveshaft was a good lenght. If you go with Moser, and need any help with the install, shoot me a PM.

My s-60 fits awesome required no trimming of anything. I went with it cause it is the strongest, and I don't want to be buying another.

Im glad you wont go 12... I will never go 9.... Woot we agree....
Only issue I have had with my Moser 12. The bolts on the backing plate backing off. Again my fault not theirs. I have swapped 10 bolts before. So the 12 bolt swapped was not bad. Did have a issue getting the BMR T/A on. Had a freind come over and he got it on in 2 seconds. I cant say enough about Moser service. And I bought Directly from Moser. My 12 does not whine. A whine tends to be a backspacing issue during the install. I had 3.73's put in my 10 bolt. The first time they whined like heck then broke. I took another set of 3.73's to a local Differential specialist in town. Same brand and they did not whine, they were setup correctly. Again I perfer Moser because I have no real issue IMO. No leaky rear,No whine, well no issues...

The housing.
I prefer the torque arm mounting on the 9" over the 12 bolt and Dana.
Heard of more problems with the Moser 12 bolts than the Strange 12 bolts.
My personal opinion on the best rear out there right now? Midwest 9
I know guys that have blown up their 12 bolts that run 11's. Now, it may have been there fault.
Never heard of a 9" popping unless it is at least single digits at the strip.
I went 9" for raw strength and torque arm mounting location. I am quite happy with mine overall, but right now I would go with the Midwest rear.

I purchased a Moser 9" last year and the only real complaint i have (other than the first set of gears being LOUD, which they replaced free of charge) is the pinion seal in my aluminum center section likes to drip fluid. It's been replaced (by Moser, on their nickle) but the new one still likes to drip, not much though, maybe 2 or 3 drops over the course of a week. If i could do it again i woudl go with the cast iron 3rd member.

I've put less than 10k on my car since I've had the 9". At first i was cool with it but now I'm on my 3rd ring and pinion set. Its been worked on by the shop that installed it twice and a GM/ Ford dealership. It eats the ring gear up, and whines. Its better for now, we had to switch gear brands but at one time it was so loud that i put ear plugs in to drive it because I just couldnt take it anymore.
Its all spaced out correctly, the shop even took it to another shop and had them inspect the work last time to ensure that it was done properly and that they didnt overlook anything. Its still too loud to hold a conversation over a cell phone with and you still have to raise your voice to talk to someone in the passenger seat.
The leaking pinion seal was taken care of last time it had been worked on tho.
The drag on the car is terrible. I understand that its a much bigger and solid rear end than the 10 bolt but my mileage went from about 22-24 mpg to about 15, just after the 9" install. Gears are 3.73 they were 3.23 and i dont think that would make that huge of a differnce. I doubt that it will even coast a 1/8 mile if you shut the cruise off at 65 on a flat highway.
The sad thing is that I've only beat on it on a few occasions but eveytime its launched and hooks up it turns from a whine to a SCREAM, oddly enough this is when it starts getting bad...

My 10 bolt just survived my first track outing -- made me happy as I was 110 miles from home.
Thanks for all the great input guys. Everyone else, please post up your opinions and experiences as this is obviously a major endeavor. So far, it seems like the only issue with the 9" is possible sway bar clearance issues. I assume they have aftermarket bars that clear.
How about the posi unit? I didn't realize you could choose until I checked out the responses and links that have been posted. More decisions...

Okay -- it is done.
I just ordered a Moser 12 bolt -- 3.73 gears, 4 channel prepped, welded relocation brackets, True-Trac, 33 spline axles, c-clips eliminated, and sway bar brackets installed. Should be ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks at a semi-local NY speed shop.
I considered everything that was posted and looked at how we use our car and this just seemed the way to go for me. Thank you again for all the replies and information. I will post pics of the install when the work begins.

Yes, you will have to put the backing plates on the axle, then press the bearing on behind it. Not that hard if you have a press handy. If you don't, and garage can do it for you. Other than that, it's pretty straight forward. I mentioned you will have to grind the corner off of an aftermarket torque arm. This is easy to see when it's in front of you, but hard to explain. You will need aftermarket bolts for the torue arm, because it is not the straight through design. AND LOCTITE THE TORQUE ARM BOLTS. Get some zip ties to lock down your wires and and brake lines. I can't think of anything else, but if I do I'll let you know.
