Good point, except the LS7 engine makes the Z06 only about 200-300lb lighter, they come in at ~3150, and we're at what, ~3400. Correct me if I'm wrong. At any rate, I would say any more than 450 to the wheels, you would be better off with higher performance clutch, especially if you don't plan on stopping your mods at 450

Yeah, thought about that after posting. But I have a question...wouldn't GM slightly overrate the clutch, like say to hold more horsepower than what the car has...they have to know that people are going to make those things faster....or do they care....or do they make money off the aftermarket scene?

I think a typical C5 weighs like 3150lbs. My friends old C5 ZO6 weighed less than 3100lbs. C6 ZO6 is gonna be lighter still. Doesn't matter what gm rates these clutches. A stock f bod clutch never held stock power very long so I wouldn't go by that. Why anyone who's car is gonna see track time + spray wojuld wanna use a stock (GM) clutch is beyond me.

I think my car at least is quite a bit heavier especially in street trim. I completely agree though. As I am with almost 400 RWHP I don't plan on a LS7 clutch just because if I start modding much more I will be pushing the limits (though the stocker has held up really well even with 131k miles)
They put a 10 bolt in my car I think the clutch is probably underrated a bit since the motor most likely is as well. I would not expect them to put much more then what is needed though not very cost effective for them and I would bet the majority of Vette owners don't modify their cars much at all.

Textralia FTW as far as 500+. I don't know the specific clutch name, but Textralia is the brand

I've read on other threads people recommending the Textralia over the Spec 3 because of the infamous chatter. Pedal is obviously going to be harder, as some Textralia clutches will hold up to around 1000hp....but they are expensive. If you want quality, you gotta have cash....or credit...or good drugs to sell

Mcleod, Textrailia, and Ram all offer good setups. I have a Mcleod kevlar single disc for about 30,000 miles or so. Still holds 6,000+rpm dumps on ET Streets.
