Thread: My Procharger Build - Kinda

Sorry for the delay. I've been busy driving this thing!
Here is a pic of the clearance I have now with the new custom intake.
A pic of the air filter tucked up into the front driver's side fender.
A pic of the fabricated air intake. It's bolted to the bottom of the brake control module for added support.
A close-up of the intake coming off the head unit. Nice looking welds if you ask me!
A shot from underneath
Another pic of the Alky pump residing behind the driver's side headlight.
You can see in this photo where the methanol is injected at. It's the lower brass fitting in the picture.
Just a random shot.
The charge side pipe all the way to the right was the one that was fabricated into more of a 45 degree elbow as opposed to using the 90 degree elbow supplied by ATI. This was done for hood clearance.

Very impressive!
Jon, what are the two (2) blue unions for between the rail and your fuel pressure sender? And the vertical black tube under them?

Alky controls mounted in the glove box. There is velcro on the bottom of the control/test module so it doesn't slide around
Another few ground shots.
These are the (2) lights for the methanol kit. Pretty slick huh? The light on the right is the low-level warning light. It blinks red when the tank is getting low. When it stays solid red, the tank is empty. It gives plenty of warning and once the tank becomes low, you still have plenty of methanol to make a few more WOT pulls.
The light on the left is a test light. When you push the test button on the control to run a self-diagnosis, this light will light up telling you the system is functioning. When you start to get into the throttle, this light will light up letting you know the system is ready. Depending on the color dictates how much methanol is being sprayed. It also lights up red when boost is sensed. As boost increases, the same LED will turn green. It may or may not light up green depending on how long I'm in boost and what PSI is reached.
And finally, where the beater resides most of her life

Wow it's been a while since I have been on here, and I am glad to see you finally got the 35th completely built man I remember when you were just getting the parts together congrats on the build. I am ready to see some video's of this bad boy, I just reenlisted in the army, which means I am getting a 10k bonus so hopefully this means a nice little build lol.

Thanks man! It's been a long time dream. I'm still not 100% done, but all of the major items are complete now for the most part. I may very well forge it someday and put in a more FI friendly cam, but for right now I'm very happy with the results and how the car handles on the street.
I'm supposed to be getting an e-mail of the car on the DYNO. As far as video of it, I'll see if I can't get something sometime this summer using my little brother's video camera as I don't own one myself.
Stay safe and thank you for your service buddy. 10K worth of car parts sounds like a very good time to me!!

That car is scary sounding. Its as if the gates of hell are opening......

Sadly, that video doesn't even really give the car that much justice to what it really sounds like on the street. It's much deeper/louder.

I posted the video of the car on the DYNO a few posts up...
Figured I'd post the DYNO sheet that went with it!
Thanks for looking.

Figure I'd add some info on the graph above.
The lower pull is before Frost worked his magic on the DYNO. The higher pull was when the car was making 11lbs of boost. This is when Frost and Nate decided to pull the rev limiter back and limit the boost to around 9lbs max at WOT. I don't have a graph of the final results from that adjustment, but that is when the car made 500rwhp. I wasn't given a final rwtq number, but one can speculate based on the graph above.

I guess you tuned it back a little just to be safer?
-

That is correct. At 11 lbs of boost, nobody felt comfortable since I'm still running stock pistons and connecting rods. I feel much better having a little less rwhp and having a lot more conservative tune. Hopefully by going this route I'll be trouble free for some time to come.

Thanks Matt. Yeah maybe one day when I bring it to work I'll let you know and if you're around you can come by. I don't drive it up to the city very often though. Sticks around the NWI region. Otherwise, me and some buddies are going to the track next month. You're more than welcome to join. We're going to US 41 Dragway.

No problem at all. If you have any questions what-so-ever, feel free to ask away. I learned a considerable amount about this stuff from my research, asking questions, and talking to builders.
Just take your time and do your homework before pulling the trigger on anything. There is always something you forget!!
