I'll be interested in knowing what kind of durability you've gotten on the products you've used on the black plastic on the engine compartment. That's one of the areas where I've tried numerous products, and none of them has lasted or kept the "black" long enough

SUNSET ORANGE- 2001 PONTIAC TRANS AM WS6
I use black magic tire shine on the black plastic and rubber with an old bug sponge. It holds up real good. I just touch it up from time to time.
Just ware a rubber glove while doing this. That black stuff is a bitch to get off your hands

Bright Silver Metallic- 02 T/A WS6
Looks good bro. I think I've already seen your car on ls1tech. It looks good.... like really good. I think only people like you would understand why I spend the amount of time I do cleaning my car. Most of my friends and my wife just don't get it.

I used high-temp paint for the primer, gloss black, and silver/chrome details. Then I used a hight temp clear coat; lots of coats

Yes. The paint was actually labeled "Chrome" for automotive painting, but it actually came out more of a silver/polished look. I didn't want to shell out $300 to have my covers painted. I think they came out okay.

Collector Yellow (54U)- 2002 Trans Am CE
Now that is what I like to see. A super clean engine bay!
You have got to have a passion for these cars to not only keep the exterior clean, but the interior, engine and even the underside.
I have to say, I'm guilty of waxing the underside of my car...I can't help it!2002 Trans Am Collector Edition WS6 ASC# 619

Jeez I thought I was bad!! I never clean under my hood. Seems whenever I used to use tire shine etc. it would attract more dirt and dust. Under my hood actually looks decent despite never being cleaned. Wonder what he means by underside of his car?? Surely not underneath??? LOL
