Politics aside, just remember a few things. The Military is a voluntary organization and most of the young men and women that are part of it are proud to be serving or to have served for something they believe in, and it all comes down to the flag of our great nation. It is no big secret to what our job is, which is to support and defend the constitution of the united states, and when asked to serve the ultimate sacrifice to do so. So be sad especially for the families, but also be proud that you belong to a country where young men and women are willing to volunteer for something alot of people wouldn't do for any amount of money. Go Navy!!, and Semper Fi!! Keep up the good work over there.

Well accually..... my best memory is of this kid named Farem.....He was 9 yrs old......he knew a little english.....
His family was dirt poor....I gave him money to go through schoool.....I had 30 dollars a month.....(mo0stly spent it on cigs) But i pretty much helped him through school....I Paid for his paper and some other stuff.....and i would help him on his english homework. His house was demolished in the invasion of fallujah, his parents had no money at all.......Can you beleive that they didnt have money for paper!?!?!!??!?! I couldnt beleive it so ever time i got paid and he passed through our checkpoint i would give him money to get what he needed.

I put alot of thought in that post just for it to be deleted. I am on active duty and swore to the same othe that you did so don't think for one minute that I don't appriciate everything that the military and it's people have done and given. I was not trying to dog anyone out. So anyway, I will say it again GO NAVY!! and SEMPER FI. Keep up the good work.

Allright so what are the rules here?
I had my post deleted about nothing inappropriate about these pix.
For instance I find it a bit outrageous that some of the vets here are complaining about the pix ... are you kidding?

Yeah, I have seen all those pics and it is very sad. My grandfather passed away last week, I mean, I saw it coming, (he had congestive heart failure) he was old, but facing the reality of it was something totally different. I didn't do anything all weekend. I just slept, didn't go out, didn't study for finals, nothing. I have seen a father bury his son and the sheer fright on his face was just overwhelming.

I live near Fort Benning which is one of the largest military bases in the US, so alot of my friends are military. Some special forces, some infantry and 2 of my cousins are marine corps. All i can say is that it takes a special kind of man/woman to lay down their life for people they don't even know. Thank you for all that you do
