Density Altitude Impact

I just ran the calculator on Drag Times' website. My best run was 12.90 at 103.67 and that corrected to a 12.60 at 106.24 - so that is a bit off the mark. The air temp was 75 degrees, with 94% humidity and a barometric reading of 29.90 Hg with a D/A of 2,049 feet. Track elevation appears to be a question -- Drag Times lists it at 515 feet, but the Beaver Springs website says 632 feet. Kind of odd...

I did input the correct altitude (I assume the Beaver knows its own track) and that upped the D/A to 2,194 feet and dropped the corrected numbers to a 12.57 at 106.45 which is certainly closer to what our car can do on a good day. Curious that Drag Times has the track elevation off by over 100 feet.

Sounds like it's running fine then, just DA affecting it.

Yeah I've noticed Drag Times has a few tracks with the elevation skewed a bit. I go with what the track says just as you did.

We'll be back out in Arizona in November, but no plans to head north that I know of.

Bars/pins that slide through and hold them up after you rotate the camshaft. They sit in plastic trays but after some mileage they very rarely hold the lifters up on their own, so as a precaution, the pins are slid in.

I used 2 of the old style wire clothes hangers. I unbend them and make them a straight wire and slid them into the holes after i spin the camshaft 3-5 times. It's free and better then just hoping the lifters stay up in the valley.

Yet another use for wire coat hangers, there should be a book by now on the 101 uses of wire coat hangers
