It's not about nice, it's about delivering the goods and that they do. Yes i'll agree that the price is overblown, but hey you get what you pay for.
With the right amp they will ROCK ur ballzzzzz off.

yes they are way over hyped the ID linked sounds better than the e3 line down and the IDmax sounds better than the w3 line up
and on loudness jl is one of the lowest brands around they are more focused on sounding good
and I have had the w6 and w7 they were good sounding just not loud enough for me so I upgraded and when I did I actually paid less

You need a lot of juice to push JL w6 w7, that's why their used in sound comp all the time. Alot of heads don't understand this concept.

my 2 jbl 12s are rated a 300 rms and ive been pushing 1500 through them for 6 monthes now and ive blown 2 boxes apart without the speakers blowing or sounding bad. i suggest jbl and infinity mostly because i get a 60 % discount because my brother builds all thier stuff and i know the engineering behind all thier equipment .its top notch competition equipment.imho

I have the same decision to make. Right now I've got an MTX 4500. I used to be really into LOUD car stereos and didn't care if the box took up my whole trunk. I've had everything from Kicker Comp 12's(first subs I ever had when I was 16). Then I started getting higher quality subs and amps. I've had 2 Image Dynamics IDQ12's, 2 Rockford Power T1 12's, 2 12" JL Audio W6V2's, 2 JL Audio W7's. I've had all kinds of amps also: MTX PRO3002, MTX 942, Alpine V12 1000, Rockford Power 551x 4 channel for mids & highs, Rockford T10001, JL Audio 1000/1, US Amps Merlin MD2D and US Amps Merlin2 MD1D. I would like to put a JL W6v2 or JL W7, but the stealth enclosure doesn't have the depth for them. Right now I've got to get rid of some of the car stereo equipment, contact me if anyone is interested in any of the following: I've got 3 Rockford Power series T112d4's, 1 Rockford T115d4, 2 US Amps Merlin2 MD1D which are 1200 watts rms and a US Amps Merlin MD2D which is 1521 watts rms.
