I'd call Texas Speed to see since I have no idea if they are "0" decking the block or not,,,or how far down in the hole the pistons are,,,so you can't do the math for an exact number.

I'd personally go with the 404 ci motor that is only .010 over. That leaves you another .020 over down the road for another refresh if need be.

The extra 4 cubes are not going to yield any noticable HP gain anyway, so you may as well save it and get your money's worth out of the block.

Just to add,,,,that $3500 price tag sounds like a decent deal for what ya get. And before this gets into an added weight discussion,,,you can take it right back off the front with a tubular K-member

This swap has been done a million times, so there should be a harness kit offered by now to extend your original harness to some of the sensors that have moved on the cast iron blocks,,,so there may be some hidden added expense here just to give you a heads up on.

No problem, and you have very good info on engines, for my future reference

(hopefully much further in the future than poor Crash, I can't afford a new build right now.)

Geazer? Wait a minute... It's spelled G-E-E-Z-E-R (see below my name). And I AM a geezer and even I know what (most) of these abbreviations are (gotta keep a leg up on these younguns). Are you telling me your geezerer (I know it should be "more of a geezer") than I am?

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Until someone reminds him of the other things he'll probably have to do once he gets this new high-powered motor.... at least a tranny rebuild, right? I've always been told that new motor + old tranny = bad. And do you have something other than a 10-bolt Crash?

Ya i've got BMR k-member, upper and lower a-arms already. plus some other goodies in my sig. Thats another thing, what all can i re-use? things like brackets, what about my pushrods (chromoly), will ls6 oil pump mount up, FAST 92/92, injectors, headers (i want new ones, slp sucks but maybe just till i get more money). will i need different motor mounts? when i replaced the k-memeber i put some new prothane solids. Thanks for the help

im gunna try and maybe find a slightly used stroker if i can. i figure with the way the economy is right now there are prob some really good deals. that way i could just drop it right in. plus new is always way more expensive. just a thought
