Amazing what an AWD launch can do.

I've ridden in plenty a WRX, never impressed. It pulls ok for what it is, probably about on par with my friends Audi A6 2.7 BiTurbo. My other friends Cobalt SS S/C pulled a hell of a lot harder though, and it doesn't fall on its face above 45MPH lol.

You're thinking of the STI.

Even launching a WRX from redline will only net you a low-mid 14 second pass. It would take a ton of mods to get a WRX into low 13's/12's, especially considering that their transmissions are junk and can't even hold stock power without blowing up.

I spanked...and I mean SPANKED a newer (my guess 05+) STI when I was finishing moving all my stuff down to Philly. The dude kept pullin up and droppin back, so I got on it a little and he followed. We lined up and he punched it first and I walked the shit outta him like nothin. I don't think he missed a gear either, but the smile on his face went to a straight ahead glare haha

I've actually never lost (but 1 to a cobra, and I knew the guy) a street race with the few that I've had, so I'm, kinda wondering how it's gonna feel on the other side. I know I'd be cool about it, and I'd wanna stop and chit chat, but can't necessarily say the same for others. I always seem to get people that are pissed off that they lost and don't want anything to do with me... They probably do a google search on "Camaro/ Pheonix thingy" and troll through forums to see how they can get faster cars!

Haha I know, and at least I can admit that I lost to a Cobra. My car must have needed a driver mod. And I think we talked about this before...this moron got 3.5 tubing put on his car...and it only has flowaster muflers, cai, and pulley. I wanna run em when I do my cam swap (whenever I can afford my oil pump, lifters, gaskets/bolts, and a tune) and I believe it'll be a different story.

wow I always thought the STI's were alot more big of a deal to recon with I have never raced am STI personally before but I have killed many WRX's I guess what got me worryed is what I read they could do in car and driver

I know w/ very slight mods we can still do the same if not better 1/4 mile but thats pretty nasty for right off the floor room, the funny thing is the 07's are slower than the 06's by like .4 or .5 on the quarter same w/ the evos

It was a roll race and his car was completely stock, so I'm sure that was key. Plus, most people can't really hit what the "stock" 1/4 mile time in a car is anyway cause the people putting down those #'s are professional drivers.

oh I hear ya a professional driver can make a big difference, ya not to worryed about them from a roll at all but I would'nt mess with them from a stop unless I had some good drag tires

you'll know, the wrx is a regular lookin car - maybe a little quick lookin. the sti is rice (stock) , big wing, gold rims, real flashy lookin. i think a loud exhaust too, i been drinkin lol can't remember

The new STI is really gay. It's a 4 door hatchback station wagon...yuck! I actually like the look of some STI's, but many of them are riced out beynd belief.
