I've seen people running 10's with the stock 10 bolt. Some are luckier than others.

Yep, borrowed time. Friend of mine ran 2 years going 11.30' and 40's with an auto before it broke, actually I was pretty surprised at that, cutting 1.5x 60 foot times. Another buddy with an LT1 6-speed was running 11.30's at over 120 and that darn 10 bolt would snap an axle every 8-10 passes Then one night snapped a pinion on me and took out the trans with it. He runs a 12 bolt now without an issue and has since dipped into the 10's with a better tire/suspension setup.
I don't even care for the 10 bolt in a nearly stock car anymore
