Being in the powerband instead of having to get to it.
A stall (depending on speed) will allow you to launch at a higher RPM. This also goes for roll racing. Hit the gas, the motor is allowed to get to its stall speed instantly.

wont a 3500 or 4000 stall appear to make you lose a lot of horsepower at lower rpms from slippage? It pretty much isnt locking up until it hits the stall speed so any hp ratings on the rpm range below the stall speed on the dyno will show the slippage right? I dunno, does that make sense?

black- 2000 nhra edition formula
you must have never driven a stalled car.
yes it happens stock, but at a lower rpm though. the stall raises the rpm.
say when you gun it on a stock car, the car will kick down to 2200 rpm. now have a 3500 rpm stall in there, the rpm goes no lower than 3500.
stalls put you in the powerband alot faster than an auto ever would.2000 nhra edition formula
