I may as well throw this out there so Carpy can start bashing on me -- I have the Caddie replacement all picked out. 2018 Jaguar XE 25T AWD in Firenze Red. I am always intrigued by cars that are "different" than the run of the mill crap and this piqued my interest. I would love the 35T, but since this is a daily driver no need to spend $$ on higher horsepower. If I want to go out and break some laws, I have plenty of other cars in the stable that will do that for me.

I did look at the new Caddies but they just don't do it for me. No interest either in any of the offerings from BMW, Audi, Lexus, Mercedes, Infiniti or the like. The Jag is well optioned and has a 5 year, 60,000 mile warranty. The turbo four makes 247 hp at 5,500 rpm and 269 lb.ft. of torque at around 1,200 rpm. It'll lay down a 0 to 60 run in 5.8 seconds, so definitely much quicker than my Caddie and, with its extensive use of aluminum it weighs in at around 500 lbs. less.

Here's the kick in the nuts - of the various XE's at the dealership, I happened to pick the one car that is under a factory "do not sell" directive pending the replacement of a fitting in the fuel system. Sounds like they had a bad batch of parts but that is just my luck. The fix should be completed by mid-month and we'll go finish off the deal. As with the Caddie, I am buying a car without ever having driven it. We did go for a ride in one a few weeks ago when we first stopped to look and that was good enough for me.

Nope. Jaguar is now owned by Tata Motors after Ford bailed in 2008. They previously had Ford style engines, but now have their own in house Ingenium power plant.

Besides Carpy can't roast you too much. He doesn't have a LS anything and also owns a Thunderturd.

British make built by India. What could go wrong? You think I still won't have jokes Scott?
Personally I'd just get a 3.6R Legacy and save money over saying I drive a luxury car I'm cheap like that though

Exactly! Especially with the closest dealership being almost 3 hours from home. I have faith... and some basic skills with a wrench and a multimeter.

2010 CTS 4 Luxury Edition in Thunder Grey with the 3.0 engine. It was a great car for the 5-6 years that I drove it. Other then routine service, I replaced both front wheel bearings and the throttle body.

Is Jaguar making their own engine? With the lighter weight you probably won't miss the 6 cylinder. My ATS has a 4 cylinder but is light and moves pretty good.

Anyone remember the which yr of truck/engine you can swap out with for the starter? Asking for another member. Tim posted this in another thread ac delco 6488 but that number doesn't come up in ac delco.

I don't know where I would put the snow with another nor'easter. I have about 20" now.

The OEM on starter had a short bolt and long bolt, the truck starters came with 2 long bolts.

Yes. It has their new Ingenium engine which is an in house Jaguar designed power plant. The 0 to 60 time really shows the difference between the XE and CTS 4 - 5.8 seconds for the Jag and 7.1 seconds for the Caddie.

Which prevents you from using it how? It's not difficult to pick up a set of bolts

Search this....ac delco 88864299. Rock Auto specifically lists that as 2 long bolts...bolt PN 12561387. I just looked for a 2000 Silverado 5.3
