Anyone from south florida knows you can get stupid fast on Alligator Alley. I was in route to miami, racing a 350Z, at about 120 I already had like 10 cars on the fool, and figured i'd just keep the hammer down. The spedo tops at 155, but I'm still in 5th coming up on redline, I figured like 163ish at redline. Going into 6th really doesn't do much. 3.43 M6

One stretch of the road is like 8 miles long, no elevation changes, no bends, just flat the whole way. There are huge fences on either side of the road so animals aren't really a problem, but there's always the "what if" factor. I don't really spool my car out like that anymore, but you just gota do it once!

Alligator Alley. Is this the road thru a forest, heading north/south, near Tallahassee? Can't remember the highway name I was on, but that is where I hit my 142. We were on our way to St. George Island last August and the road was 2 lane thru the forest, straight and freshly paved, thru the nature preserve. It comes out about 5? miles east of the road S to that island.

I've been reading that the z28 w/ a4 came with 3.23's / 3.42's

Personally i've owned 2 1998 z28's.
the first one, i have sold, it was a 98 z28 auto t-tops no traction control and 3.23's stock
the second one, i own currently, and its a 98 z28 auto coupe with traction control and 3.42's stock (still have stock gear at my house, is there any markings on it that say what ratio it is, previous owner said it was a 3.42) (the car currently has 3.73's)

Alligator Alley is the last part of I75 that connects east and west Florida. It runs through the everglades from South Naples to Ft. Lauderdale. It's about a foot above sea level, and on a cold night you can get 100% out of your engine.

Highway 65 runs North South through Apalachicola National Forest, I've never drivin it myself, I bet it's a beautiful road though. I take HW95 along the coast to the beach.

My friend and I decided to do a top speed test in the WS6 after we got out of the club. Well after getting into the right car, I decided I'd go ahead and drive since I only have 6 or 7 shots, and a few long islands which was a lot less than my friend.
Once we made it out of the parking lot, the freeway was just down the street. The tricky part though was that I was so wasted that I couldn't shift the gears right, so we came up with an awesome idea! My friend would shift and I would work the clutch.
Well, we finally made it out to the highway after a few “near misses” Then we let ‘er rip! We made it up to redline in 5th gear but we were so drunk we couldn’t make out how fast we were going.
The crazy part was waking up the next morning and not remembering how I made it home!

Oh yeah, highway 65 it was. It is a nice, deserted road. I don't know why, but both times I've floored it in the 2 TAs I've had and let 'er rip was in Florida. Got up to 135 in the '98 we used to have, and the 142 was in our current WS6.

my 98 z28 a4 came with (and still has) a 2.73 rear and asr, wich was standard on the european export models, i think.
i like it, cause i usually cruise at speeds above 100 mph. the 2.73 rear keeps the rpm low, less heat and better gas mileage.
