Great to see the progress in this thread! I have an '89 turbo that I won't be doing this to. haha

BUT, I may have found a cheap donor car, so ya never know.

I was curious about how plug and play the TPC kit was for you. I saw that you had the motor plus all the trimmings. What were some of the road blocks you found, if any.

    Thanks!

Lots of little hiccups here and there of course. Lots of looking at it....looking at it some more.....going inside and getting it eventually if you know what I mean. Definitely a lot of fun. Don't get me wrong, I love the 944 turbo in its natural form. The biggest thing is the cost of maintenance and the amount of money spent vs the horsepower gained. You spend thousands and lose reliability in the Porsche motor and don't gain a lot of power. LSx is the end all to that issue. Now that I've worked out the bugs and am driving this car often.....it's insane. Literally the most fun I have ever had behind the wheel. I'll own another 944 turbo one day. May keep it stock just to enjoy it for what it is.....the minute issues arise....LSx time. Haha

I definitely get the hiccup aspect of it all. I was just wondering how much more you needed to buy other than the swap kit and an engine w/harness & computers.

I got ya...man, to be honest it's a lot. There are lot of little things that add up. You gotta decide on brake setup...manual or boosted like mine....accessories (AC heat and such) fuse panels with fuses. Hoses and fittings and fuel lines. Lots of little stuff

Whats cool is that when you see the Porsche you expect to hear one thing from it and then you hear this tremendous howl coming out of it thats the kicker!!.....I remember years ago this guy came in to the service station with a Porsche 914 with a 5.0 motor in it i heard it ,then i had to make him open the lid cause i just didnt believe it. The only other car i can remember that had the similar effect was the Sunbeam Tiger-lil car Big engine..lol.
