Navy Blue Metalic- 1999 Z28 Convertible
Need help identifying where a 'shimmy' is coming from
I have a 99' Z28 convertible with the SLP Level II suspension and 17' SS wheels. I am getting a shimmy from the front that I am having a hard time identifying the source. I had the tires balanced/rotated yesterday and it did not fix the problem. Outer tie rods look good, and the inner tie rods we recently replaced with the rack and pinion.
I am getting a 'shimmy' from the front end at higher speeds, usually noticeable starting around 50 mph. I know the sway bar end links (front and rear) need to be replaced, but could they cause a shimmy? Also, it may be my imagination, but the severity of the shimmy seems to be vary - sometimes the wheel is shaking worse than others.
The car has been sitting for about 9 months and I just started driving it again.
What are the 'usual suspects' when trouble shooting a front end problem

Does it seem like side to side? Or up and down. Your tires might have a flat stop by sitting so long.
