OBD2 cars use flash proms. Chips were meant for eprom cars. What you bought is an IAT tricker. It makes the car think the air temp outside is colder than it actually is so the car adds fuel and timing. Very piss poor way of tuning a car and you'll be lucky if you don't burn a piston.

Well if you have a 99 the 1st thinh I would say is look into a LS6 intake. You cann buy them new or most times you can buy a used one off a newer TA or Vette that someone has swapped for a FAST intake. The 1st round of mods on my car was a Volant cold air intake but some people like SLP and other aftremarket lid setups, more of a personal taste thing they all give you a few hp, I got a used LS6 intake from a local shop when they installed a FAST intake on a Head/cam car. While I was at it I got a Ported and polished Throttle body off ebay. That takes car of your intake. I also put ASP underdrive pulleys and a Hypertech 160 stat in.
Next round I did a set of QTP long tube headers and orr road ypipe and catback and that takes care of the exhaust. After I had the intake pulling in more air and better exhaust flow I decided it was time for a tune since they had to delet the rear 02's anyway.

Bump from the dead. I'm installing a 98 ls1 into my jeep and I need to know what the IAT plugs into. I have an ls6 intake and a home depot air tube. Can somebody snap a picture of where the IAT sits from the factory?

On f Bodies it plugs into the air duct between the airlid and the MAF sensor.
