I'm not going to comment on everything you said, but I see tons of 5th generation Camaro's here in Tulsa (a city of around 380k) everyday and most of them I see are 1SS and 2SS models. A lot of people are buying these cars because they like the looks of them. I personally like the looks of the 4th generation better, but I don't think the 5th generation is ugly.

My biggest issue is that everyone takes the 5th gen and instantly hails it as the savior of GM and the slayer of everything that is Ford (mainly the Mustang). GM needs to get their heads out of each others asses and actually drop the weight of their pig-cars. A styling change that isn't following the S197 Mustang changes would be nice too. The 5th gen is fucking ugly, heavy, not designed for the market, and is overpriced for their target market. There is a reason a majority of the 5th gens are V6s...the V8s are out of 95% of people's price ranges. The people that can afford them aren't racing them, they are making them into domestic ricers by adding more weight in the form of "styling". This "styling" is making them even more ugly, heavier, and slower.

The LS7 has me just drunk enough to drop a pick-up line. Unfortunately, I don't have the cash to even buy her a drink.

Yeah, but it's an ugly piece of crap WITH A JET ENGINE!!!!

Personally I like the looks of the car better with the new facelift. Having a 500hp NA 7 liter helps too...

Not to mention, 99.99% of the time some older guy with too much money is racing their $60k+ car it's on the highway and not on a back road.
So you have shocks and springs, and apparently weight reduction since a trans am is typically 3450-3500 without driver. And with your coilovers, they're apparently for drag racing. Even if you adjust the hell out of the, they still wouldnt be ideal for handling. You're nowhere near a Z28 on any track with curves. There is soooo much more to handling than shocks and springs. Your brakes that you listed below wouldnt last one hard lap on any sizeable track. They lack swept area, caliper stiffness, and any real cooling ducting. Look at the ZL1 vs. the GT500 on a road course. They're close sometimes, with the ZL1 usually edging out the GT500 (with track pack). The ZL1 is heavier, and down almost 100hp. Your locker is really the least of your worries. The newer platforms are leaps and bounds better with cars these days.

I'm sure your car could beat one in a straight line though

There around here also in hoards, but talking to many of the drivers at shows and cruise in's in split 3 ways.
One group is die hard past Camaro owners.
Another is the wanna be's of all types wanting a rocket ship that have the funds.
And the other was sold for the mystique of the movie car or a similar ideal.

I personally liked some of the concept ones before these came out. I felt it was a better representation of yore. The lines are too bold, boxy, square, the lower body height is way too high much like the mopars and way, way way to much plastic and looking so in the interiors. And their overpriced by a long shot even if you figure in for inflation.

Not really. And I dont care who is buying the cars. As long as they continue to sell in good numbers, it allows to GM to build great special edition cars like the Z28, 1LE, and ZL1.

I've concluded that just because it says "Smart Phone" doesn't mean the person is.

I wish we would start making smarter ppl.......
