Wow, yeah you are probably right. It's really steep on both sides of the mountain. Semi's creep in the slow lane going 15 mph and the speed limit is 65. Cars dart out from behind slow traffic. It's the scene for alot of wrecks.
I've even had my wifes 2000 SS get warm when running the AC while climbing it, in the summer at the bottom of the hill it can be as much as 115 degrees. If I slow below 70 mph in 6th gear it struggles to climb the hill, If I need to gain speed I have to downshift it to 5th.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 02-03-2012 at 09:31 AM.

Thanks for the input, even if you hookers did get horribly off track. Still havent made up my mind yet but there are a few other trucks coming into play. Another friend has a 98 Ram extended cab, 4x4, 5.2 liter 98kmiles that I could get for 3500. And there are a few local silverados I am going to look at, all are gas trucks as the only other diesels out there with the 6.5 liter have either 300-400k miles on them or the guys want 5500firm and they still have 150-180k on them.

I wouldn't walk away but rather run away from that dodge........the motor doesn't scare me but everything else on that truck is a pile.

A friend of mine had a 98 Ram with the 318 in it while we were in high school. It hit 60k miles and started falling apart. My 95 Z71 with 90k was in MUCH better shape.

I've had buddies that have Rams and every one of them have some kinda screwed up problems with them. Rears, trannies, electrical, hvac, and evidently dodge hasn't designed a power window yet that doesn't fall out of the track if you try to roll it down when it's got ice on it. 3 people I know have had that happen to them. Granted....they should know better but I've not been paying attention and done it before too and the damn window didn't fall down inside the door. Once they do that too they're a bitch to make them stay in the track after that.

I'd concentrate on Silverado's with LS platforms or look at Duramax and just bite the bullet on the prices.
Trucks are usually run hard and put away wet. It's going to be hard to find a nice one with low miles, so naturally the prices will be more.
