How are the ground effects attached? Are they bolted, clipped, molded? It might be cheaper to just remove them and have the holes filled rather than all new parts. Just a thought though

Black/ Silver- 98 TA WS6/ 01 C5 Corvette
Thanks, I haven't painted the calipers green yet. I am trying to decide if I want to stick with it or go with painting it phantom grey with black accents(ram air scoops, side view mirrors, sail panel,spoiler,etc.). And then the other idea was to paint it sublime green with black accents, not really sure what I want to do.

I think green with black accents would be unique. Im all about not havin the same stuff as the next man. In the case of cars, that would be the color imo.
Ive actually been thinking about a really dark purple or a purple/black mix. Decisions decisions. I have awhile to make that decision though and I am not set on those colors I said either. Those are just my thoughts.Suspension: Lower control arms (Spohn), Drive shaft safety loop, Torque arm (Edlebrock), Strut tower brace, Panhard Bar (BMR)
Under the Hood: Smooth bellows, Lid, Catch can, LT Headers, ORY, AIR/EGR delete, Poly engine/transmission mounts,
Exterior: Painted brake calipers (Red), Halo “Spyder” Headlights w/matching parking/turn signals (Black)

Yeah I think I most likely will do the sublime green with black accents, I do like having something almost no one has. Wonder how much it would cost to have that paint job done. The sublime green I am looking at is a metallic, what black do you guys think I sbould go with? A metallic or just a gloss?

I always thought paint with metallic was more prone to flake over time.

Yea I have no evidence myself. It's just something I was told by a few different people who paint cars for a living. Could very well have been in the prepping or clear.

thats funny cause i was told by some paint shops metallic is less prone to chipping but they may have just been looking for extra $ lol

If I remember correctly...which I may not...I believe they said that because the metal flakes in the paint cause it to not bond or adhere as well to the surface. I would just research it either way. It could be if the car is in a lot of direct sunlight also. Let us know what you come up with.

After some light researching this is what I have come up with on the differences between metallic and gloss paint:
Metallic:
More scratch resistant
Expensive
Almost impossible to match even with the exact color
Less color options (not sure about this one)
Can't touch up
Gloss:
Cheaper
Easier to scratch
Easy to match
Easy to touch up
Lots of colors
I have more research to do but this is a start. I need to check multiple sources to verify this information is true.
