Machine shop figured out why the motor had low oil pressure. Plug in the oil passage was sideways. Transmission shop said tranny is right. We have to figure out why forward isn`t working properly. On a positive note, park, reverse and nuetral work great!

After reading the forums ,talking to my machinist and cc performance, I ordered the morel 5206 lifters. I was told that the street morel w/link bar were made the same way the ls7 lifters were. Cast. The 5206`s are either billet or forged. I can`t remember. And are $525 delivered at cc performance. That is the cheapest price I have found. I have to much in the motor to skimp now.

Make sure you nail the preload on those lifters. They are a great piece but are less forgiving with preload than an LS7 lifter. Set it hot and shoot for the .030-.050 range. They are taller too so you may come up with an odd PR length...

It is in the hands of my machinist. Of course the motor will be cold. But he will be checking the push rod length. I just hope the motor is well into the 7000 rpm range before valve float. I don`t have to worry about the rotating assy. It is all forged.

My machinist raised the rocker arms 40 thousands. I can`t waite to see how it runs. We will be puttting the motor back in this weekend if everything goes right.

Got the motor and tranny back and installed. Tranny is still acting up. My shifter will not go into the forward gears. I will disconnect it and turn the gear selector by hand. I may also disconnect the wiring harness to the tranny and see what happens. Motor now has oil pressure but doesn`t want to idle and is surging a bit. I have to slowly take my foot off the accelerator. The longer it runs the better it seems to run.

It has a base tune so I can get it broke in before wide open dyno pulls.
