Put a trannie cooler on....cheap .....
Basically at WOT a stall will eliminate you falling below the stall speed....in other words when you romp it your engine is going to stay at or above 3200 rpm if you have a 3200 stall in it. Stalls do not eat rear ends. Sticky tires eat rear ends
Trannie cooler is a must.....

Yank 3600 here... Very good quality stall, pricey but worth it. Apparently, Yank feels a little tighter than other brands, so you get more of a stock feel.

Stalls also eat hp and usually lower trap speed, but if 1/4 is in your mind get one. I do have a question though, if theyre better from a role why does is usually lower thee trap speed which usually directly affects how a car does from a role, do you guys know it helps you or does it just feel like it?

im looking to put a stall in my a4 plus LTH and ORY and gears (373) do i have to get it tuned? i read somewhere that when u put a stall in these cars u have to get a tune to get the full HP outta them. TRUE or FALSE.. just need to know cause i wanta do these mods frist then head cam combo. so if it needs a tune with the converter ill just wait till i get the rest of my stuff

Yes you pretty much need a tune with a high stall converter. Some get by without, but most likely you'll run into a few issues that you're gonna want to touch up in the tune.

ok thanx guess ill just hold off on the converter till i get my heads and cam and so on and just get the whole thing tuned all together.

also if you are putting the stall, H&C in, you will probably be looking at rebuilding the trans and getting a new rear end...Mine lasted a couple months after my H&C and stall before I had to replace the entire drivetrain....got expensive quick

If your going through the trouble of lt's, ORY you should have a tune done anyway since 02 sims are junk better to delete with a.tune and you have to set your auto when you change your gears as well so may as well throw the stall in too. Most places will do.a discount retune later when you add heads and cam. I know after the headers, ORY,catback, 3.73's I had the car tuned and it ran a lot better, helps you take advantage of the bolt ons.
I am having mine retuned next week while the circle d 3200 stall and Texas Speeso cam.1998 Trans Am 85k miles.
