If I were gonna buy an automatic I would find a good online builder, skip right past the stage 1/level 1 and buy a minimum of stage 2/level 2 (or whatever they call it). I would do that no matter what, even if my car was stock.

If I get a stage two will the car put more power to the ground?.. What about gears like 232 or 4:10s?.. What is that?.. Where does it fit in to equation?

no built trans will not net you more...it is just a mod needed for reliability or a complimentary mod.....the gears you are describing are the rear end gears...personally i wouldnt touch those if you are still running stock. but once again i have the "performance" ratio of 3.23s ...so for me, the risk doesnt outway the benefit. if you were running 2.72 or w/e then maybe.

For an auto anythin over 3.73 is more track than street, and you beter be shooting higher because you must be spending time on an 1/8 mile. for the 1/4 most use 3.73 to 3.90. If you pull your rpo's you will find the gear you have and if it's 2.73, I would just buy a 12bolt and have no worries ever again, or get a junk yard rear in really good shape with 3.42's.
