since you indicate clutch in your mods,4.10s' and a future upgrade to a 12 bolt if you ever put sticky tires on that M6/4.10 combination(no,3.73s' would not decrease the 'breakability').

Go 4.10s. That's what I run and at 65 mph I only turn around 1700 rpm or so. They really aren't that bad on the street.

I
plan on a 12 bolt here soon but I just want to swap gears now cuz my cam really don't like 65mph in 6 gear lol so every1 is say go with 410s?

4.10's for sure. Lots of people think 4.10's are bad on the highway and its not even close. Your running at low rpms regardless especially at 65-70mph and it will help you take advantage of that top end power you got, stay there longer and get there quicker.

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
im confused by your post so i dont know if this is even addressing what you said...but 4.10s will be a weaker in the sense of a 4.10s have a smaller pinion
3.73s - 41 teeth on ring gear, 11 on pinion
4.10s - 41 teeth on ring gear, 10 on pinion
now this is all a moot point when referring to a 10 bolt..as stock gears will still shred and grenade everything.
on 12 and 9" s this isnt a problem as the casing is much more resistant to flexing and distortion.
yet another reason why putting anything into a 10 bolt besides fluid is a waste of money.
if this isnt what you were saying then ignore my post

If you can do it cheap 410s are great, if not I'd save the $$$ for a new rear with the mods you have. I have taken a few highway trips and still get 26mpg, you can drive 80 all day long no problem. I drive my car almost everyday with a highway commute and again no problems.

I broke my old 01 SS M6 gears on street tires shifting from 2nd to 3rd, with lid, 4.10's, exhaust cut out and flowmaster. Pure dumb luck

Your right^^^. I got cocky and gave a Vette a head start by one car, it happened to be a 02 Vette. I pulled right next to him top of 2nd gear and powershifted into 3rd. It wasnt immediate but i heard a weird noise, till i let off the gas and came to a slower speed it was a very obvious sound coming from the rear like metal in a container being spun hitting each other or slapping against the container sound its hard to describe and i felt sick to my stomach, lol. Now i shift lazy going into gears and stay away from powershifting.

You are right Shady. Putting 4.10's in the 7.5 is a bad idea. With the small pinion of the 4.10,,,you only have 1 1/2 teeth contacting the ring gear at any given time. Very easy to shave the teeth off.
It's just the nature of having a rear with such a small diameter ring gear.
The 3.73's aren't much better either.
If you plan track time, then the first chance you get, just spend the money on a 12 bolt or 9 inch and be done with it. Don't waste any time or money on that factory 7.5.
