I'm pretty damn sure the LS1 and LS2 blocks are different other than bore. The LS2 and LQ4/9 are the same, but so with the LS1 I don't believe.

Yes, but what I'm saying is the LS1 and 2 are different in many aspects, where as the LS2 and LQ4/9 are identical, with the exception of the aluminum vs. iron.
Such as bore, stroke, same timing covers, etc. Theres a bunch of differences with the LS1 and 2. Thats all I was saying...

A truck 6.0L. The LQ4 came in the HD, 2500s, Hummers, etc. where as the LQ9 came in the SS Silverado, Vortec Max, VHO (GMC version of Vortec Max), and the Escalades.

The LS2s are a MUCH better block really...Thats why there much better for boosted cars. The blocks flex less, so a girdle isn't necessary. I'd probably use it anyway though. Couldn't hurt, right?
