(Hint: Eighth notes. Clap/accent on the caps....)

i love ibanez guitars... they are thier mid models line there... their pick ups are VERY intense and have awesome sound and sustain... all around they are great guitars... they have nice thin necks... the only thing i HATE is jumbo frets... every stupid ass guitar now days has them fucking junk jumbo frets... they knock intonation off if you presss a little to hard on the string...

man, all that is above my head. the only thing i understand is the pickups and how you play. the rest...well, can not compute. Right now I only have an acoustic and am saving for another electric, but dont want something crazy expensive. I figure Id be changing the pickups anyway.

if you want to learn that song/style then study Flamenco.

Flamenco guitar masters- Al DiMeola and Paco De Lucia

check out these vids. If you learn this style, you will be playing the cats ass out of your guitar.

    instructional vid flamenco:

another song worth learning to assist in this style is "Classical Gas" by Mason Williams (the tab can be found) Tab for Al and Paco can be found too.

    classical gas

I like how Al and John use a pick but Paco finger picks.

I was lucky enough to have seen John McLaughlin way back in late 73 play at the Aquarius Theater in LA with Mahavishnu Orchestra. I also got to see Al Dimeola play back in the late 70's (79 I think) at a place called The Come Back Inn in Santa Monica (maybe it was Playa Del rey). Real up close and personal. The place seated 250 for dinner and entertainment. Good times!

I am very envious. One of my favorite recordings to date is the Di Meola, McLaughlin, and De Lucia Friday night in San Francisco.

WOW! Classical gas brings back some very fond memories. I was the drummer in the high school jazz band (23 pcs). We played that tune (among others) in competition and scored a 10 in all areas (high brass, low brass, woodwinds and percussion). This was back in 1970.

Actually, today I start my classical/flamenco lessons! This song or actually, this style of music and music from my roots makes me want to learn it even more.
