VW BEETLE W/ FLOWER- 88 CRX
after it's all said and done...and the beefy V8's are out I think they will all be right around the same 1/4 time ...and just like before ...ford needs forced induction to keep up with the others

I could be wrong... but I remember reading somewhere.. that GM is going to drop ALL rear wheel drive vehicles because of these new standards.. did anyone else read that? I dunno.. all I can say is that GM is screwing themselves more and more everyday...

I think we all have to be real with ourselves as well too, a new firebird would sell initially well just due to the shock and awe value, but after a few years, then what. Most cars don't have long lineages anymore. I think if GM made it again it would be more for the previous owners, and a small market. They're looking at the big picture.
Pontiac has been the poor bastard child of GM for a long time now, and I've owned 4 of them in my short car life-time, but it seems like they always take a back seat to the chevs. Which I'm fine with, but being proud of your ride is also something, and I don't feel as if the brand has any right now.
The reason why the mustang has been so successful is that Ford is behind it 100%, it's never given up on it, and has found ways to distinguish it. Ford has a variety of options and price points. I think GM has to create a sports car like the mustang, at the price points of them, and I doubt the camaro will even make a blip on the radar when all the dust settles after a few years.

Man, I'm really F'd. I guess I'll just have to keep my Bird for the next twenty-thirty years and keep rebuilding her. Next rebuild LS3 TT. That should keep those others at bay.
I'd love to get a Corvette except the wife is boycotting them as she can't see out the window. Doh !!!
Heck, when all is said and done. With $40K I can do an awful lot to my little bird. ;-)
Done this before .... We can do it again ... no problem.

silver- 1998 camaro
No if they only made v6 camaros, I would be pissed. They could not call it a camaro unless they had a v8 option.

Collector Yellow (54U)- 2002 Trans Am CE
No Firebird!
My car just increased by, at least, another million! Time to go to Barrett-Jackson!
pffft!
I knew it was gone a long time ago...no use being in denial about it. I'm proud to have the Last of the Breed and never have to worry about someone else having a newer Trans Am on the road next to me.

Are they making the G8 a front-drive car? I'm so out of the loop, so I apologize in advance for knowing nothing about the car other than the last two seconds of the commercial.

I agree with that absolutely. The challenger is pretty damn slow for 435 hp. I mean come on! It can't even get into the 12's?
btw, how much does the new camaro weigh? I know it will have IRS, but will that make the power to weight ratio go to shit? i hope not. I think the camaro can do well, but i'm not sure if it survive past a couple years seeing that we should be developing hybrid/electric cars instead of more gas guzzlers.
