Rear Banjo Bolts on 2000 Camaro Z-28
Guys and Gals,,,, Desperate here I searched everywhere and every place imaginable for the Rear Brake Hose Banjo bolts for a 2000 Camaro Z-28. I bought remanufactured calipers and when I attached the original banjo's they stripped. Turns out the reman calipers were not completely reman'ed. Chevy says they are discontinued. Size and or where to buy would be greatly appreciated.... I'll buy lunch if your ever in Tampa!

Is it the head or threads of the bolt that is stripped?

That's going to be my last resort....I don't want to screw up the caliper threads for a $4 part, unfortunately no one carried them. Can't figure that out for the life of me. I guess not to many folks buy remanufactured garbage.

Would any of these fit? Dorman Products - Search Results. Sears carries a thread chase kit. Might be able to save the bolt.

I checked all of the Dorman fitments and none were listed for 2000 camaro. I sent them an E-mail to see is they have an exact part number. I have a thread chase kit. I just don't want to screw up the caliper.... I am going to try it with the old caliper first. Thanks for everyone's reply.

I would bring the old one in the parts store and try to match it up. Have you tried the junkyard?

^^^^^^^^ X2. Bring your old bolts in to a parts store.
Since you said you searched everywhere, i'm going to assume you already went to a junkyard or checker o reilly..? When I had trouble finding bolts for my panhard bar, the guy at checker gave me two different bolt options that could be it. One of those 2 kits fit perfectly. Granted we did some testing in the parking lot to where my hand could fit to get a general idea, but since you already have a stripped bolt bring that in and see what you can find.

Junk yards are closed to day but I put out some e-mail questions to local Junk years... I just tried to retap it and I think its 10x1....unfortunately of the 50 piece set no m10x1...I brought the bolt to O'reily, Napa, Autozone, Chevy, advanced auto, pepboys and walmart ,, no matches..

I just did some looking around and couldn't find anything for you. Jc Whitney has some universal banjo bolts but you'd have to tap the caliper I'm sure to get them work. Good luck and I'll keep looking around and see if I can at least find a part number for you....not sure that'd help much since they're discontinued but it may help with the search to at least get the thread size and pitch. I have a disc here somewhere that lists every part number on these cars.....the problem will be finding that disc. I'll see what I can find though.

http://www.holley.com/977517ERL.asp. They list it as a 10x1. They had a couple others listed.

If you replaced the calipers, it would be time to replace the brake hoses (if you have not already), I purchased the "Russell" ss braided hose, and they came with heavy duty banjo bolts and washers.
Do it once, do it right.

If my Russell braided lines came with new bolts, I should have my old ones out in the lower garage. Just cannot recall if bolts were included in the kit...
