Stopped throwing money away
One of my pet peeves has always been the price of razor blades. For years, I have shaved with an old Trac II using the Walmart knock offs. I received a Gillette Fusion as a gift and tried that for a bit, but just couldn't justify $13 plus dollars for a pack of replacement blades.
Clark Howard to the rescue! I recently caught his quip on razor blades where he claimed that if you dry the blade after each use that it will last for months. I was dubious, but after each shave I started blowing it dry with a hairdryer. I have now shaved for an entire month with the same blade and have noticed no difference in its performance. Prior to doing this, I would generally get a week out of a blade before it would start to cause knicks and razor burn.
So... now that I am not spending money on razor blades, maybe I can ring up Mark and order that wideband I want for the Bird.

however... you've spent $13.99 more on electric a month instead of $13.00 on razors...

I went and got a Braun Series 7 electric razor. high price of entry at 250 bucks but the shave is pretty much the closest i've had, it takes a minute or so to shave and there is 0 cleanup. Just empty the head and put it back in the base.... it cleans itself! Come to think of it.... it's just as expensive as regular razors if you are paying 14 bucks a month. at least for the first 17 months anyway. After that it's a cost savings... and considering I had my last electric for 5 years on the same blade.... I'd say that savings gets significant over time.....
Of course then you need to factor in the cost of cleaning fluid.... sigh OK I give up it's more expensive but dang it the thing sure is convenient! excellent shave in no time at all and no cleaning!

While watching my wife use it at one time it:
1) not work - surprisingly does work
2) hurt - she complained if it is left on to long it irritates the skin
3) smell like shit - YES it does
4) all of the above
? - As a payback and practical joke I have used it to remove hair on some buddies that have passed out drunk. They didn't have hair on their heads for a month....
And from what I've seen I would not recommend you using to shave your balls Iroc if that's what you were thinking...

I got an ex room mate that way. A-hole owed me several bills of $$$ and wouldn't pay, So my last day leaving Korea I slipped it into his shampoo and conditioner bottles. All of his hair feel off in huge patches. Head, Eye brows, face, chest, arms. Stuff is like lava, just consumes everything. My friends sent me an email telling me he thought he got expose to some radiation. Docs had him in isolation for a week till the test came back.
