camaro monsoon wiring diagram

According to the diagrams... the monsoon amp actually powers everything ACCEPT the rear tweeters... assuming that camaro coupes have tweeters in the rears...
does this mean that everyone was wrong when arguing that the monsoon only powered the front woofers, and subwoofers?? I've seen people argue til they were blue in the face that the headunit powered ALL tweeters, and even the hatch woofers... I guess there was some truth to the Houston F-Body Monsoon layout afterall... these are almost identical...
any Firebird schematics?
i've never heard a person say anything except "the monsoon powers the subs and mids in the doors/b-pilars. Tweeters are powerd from the HU as well as the rear speakers. Come to think of it. This is a diagram for Camaro monsoons. The camaro door speaker/tweeters are combined. T/A door speakers are seperate components.
so the Camaro's monsoon amp powers the front tweeters, but not the Firebird?? interesting...
from those diagrams, it shows the tweeters running right off the amp....
they probably are b/c the tweeter/midwoofer are together on one speaker, unlike the firebird which are seperate.
you don't have access to the firebird schematics do you?
un fortunatly no. but they shouldn't be much different, really.
well what surprises me is that these schematics show that the monsoon amp powers everything, and all the people that said that the Houston F-Body website was wrong aren't stepping in to say anything...
so that means that the Monsoon amp REALLY is 6-channel... not 4, like several on this board say... I still think it's amazing how such a small amp can have so much power... not that it's got amazing sound or features, but for it's size... it gains respect from me... I guess it's a d-class?
Its called over rating. Not a rms rating.Quote:

I really don't see what difference it makes whether the schematic is correct or not. The Monsoon stereo system is a poorly designed POS no matter how you look at it. Just my $.02
I'm beginning to think this guy has stock in Monsoon or something.Quote:

Is really odd if the Monsoon amp powered the highs that GM would make dual input speakers and not just a full range one for the fronts and added a crossover on the tweeter itself. Also, I noticed the more power my aftermarket hu put out the louder the highs were. If the monsoon amp took the line level signal and converted them, the highs should have stayed at simular volume with the stock or aftermarket hu and isn't the case. Also, I have seen many many posts from people that have said the diagrams floating around are not correct. If you look on the second diagram it shows 2 Right Rear subwoofers, then under them it shows LR+LR- RR+RR-, so someone messed up on the that. Then under the area were it shows the wire for steering wheel controls it says for pontiac only(blue wire). even on the plug it shows pontiac only for the steering wheel controls and I know that is incorrect..when I did the pac sw-x I used the blue wire, so it isn't a pontiac only thing. Is this a official GM diagram, because if it is, they sure did a bad job checking over it and there is some wrong info on it(for sure the blue wire).
The Monsoon layout on the Houston F Body site was removed for the Camaro. For the Firebird, Houston F Bodys diagram looks nothing like this one and shows the tweeters running off the HU..The far rear speakers it shows as running off the amp. Not sure how there can be multiple schematics floating around and are different. Even on Houston F Bodys site, under camaro it says "The front channels power the system tweeters directly". Which they are refering to the front channels of the headunit.Quote:

just trying to help here, fellas. I'm sorry if these are all wrong. I challenge anyone to pull your car's interior apart and verify authentication. Not trying to be a dick there, but seriously....i'd rather an F-body enthusiast do it then some engineer at GM.
it's kinda humorous that there are so many variations of the schematics on the internet...
I installed 2 sets of 62.7is this weekend using these schematics. All the wiring color codes and amplifier pinouts matched my 2000 coupe exactly.
According to these schematics, and my verification, everything passes through the amp at the back, including the front tweeters (E13-16) and the rear "extended range" speakers in the hatch.
it makes perfect sense... how did you verify all the wiring?
I visually confimed the wire colors for the front four speakers. I am also adding an Infinity Basslink T subwoofer so I spliced some wires on the rear subwoofer lines at the amplifer to feed the speaker level inputs of the subwoofer. While I had the amplifer out, I visually confirmed that the connector pinout was the same as what is described in the schematics. Everything looked good, except for a few typos.
By the way, the Basslink T fits perfectly inside the hatch where the infant seat tie downs are. I'll post a picture once I get it installed.
