Now, please correct me if I am wrong, but the 03-04 Termi's are the only Cobras that are really fast or are the older ones fast as well? Also, I have seen a rare few & the all have "COBRA" imprinted on the rear bumper...was that just the 03-04's?
03-04 are the only supercharged cobras, so basically yes, the only competition stock for stock with an f-body in that era besides maybe a Mach 1. And yes as well on the COBRA on the rear bumper.
03 and o4 Re the ones to watch out for. I had bolt ins and a dull tune he had some mufflers and we were side my side from 0 to 130. A pulley and he would have stomped me. Even with my cam and bolt ons I am never sure what the other guy may have. The mystic cobra was all show no real go. It is a great color on that car but it suffers from lack of power unless the motor was worked.
Hey Gents im new to the site. Im a die hard Ford man but I respect the Ls1's and I like the cars. I have a Terminator so if you guys have any questions feel free to ask.
The guy hasn't been back since he posted that.
It's a shame that Ford only made the car for 2 years, it's a nice package. I could do without the IRS but I wouldn't hesitate to own one if the opportunity presented itself. Hard to find a nice one that isn't modded now, darn thing is already 10 years old. I'd say most of them running around (at least 3 in town here) are modified to some extent. Better be on your A-game if you want to play with one. Anything with a power adder isn't something to take lightly. Even the new coyote engine is a strong runner that will run with an F-body, if I were looking at new cars I'd go right for the new 5.0. Priced right and good performance. I'm a GM guy but own 2 mustangs, and I like the cars for what they are.
Too each their own but I think the new mustang looks hideous like a glorified Honda Accord lol.
I wouldn't mind parking one next to my 69 and 89 ;)
I actually sold it a few months back to a buddy of mine. 45k miles. A few years ago I had a whipple 3.4 on it making 672 rwhp and pulled some 9 sec passes. I sold it to him with a ported eaton and 6lb lower. Good for low 11's higher 10 if he could control the launch with the irs. I since picked up a cherry lightning. My new project.
Give me a 50th Anniversary 2012 GT500 Super Snake and I'd be happy. My GTO stays, however.
New to the site and I agree the new Mustangs are not the best looking at all! I am a ford fan but there are some mean LS motors out there. I own the cobra the guy was talking about selling. Any questions ask away.
one of my friends in Huntsville just got an 03 cobra with a pulley...should be meeting up Saturday for a car show. I'll let everybody know how it goes even though I already know whats going to happen :rotfl: his dyno'd right at 400rwhp.
What was the outcome of the show? Curious as to what happenes?
here's a picture of our cars...

the cruise to bowling green was hilarious for me and bad for him...we did an interstate pull and we were dead even "he has some tune issues" I started in 2nd at like 5,000 rpm's and he started in 3rd lol "keep the 2nd gear thing between you and me hahaha" his car dyno'd at 453rwhp, but it falls on its face around 6,000rpms so it wasnt a fair race at all...he should have put a solid car or 2 on me but he couldnt pull away. He contacted his tuner and is going to pull some data logs and send them in and get it fixed which means I gotta come up with some more hp between now and then  my car still has a stock lid on it so i've got some room there "not that it'll make that big of a difference" but the only other thing I can do is add a cam or boost...i've done everything else...his car should be quite a bit faster than mine but its having some issues lol
Both great looking cars. I have that same color but with the tan top and interior. Sounds like he needs to get a boost a pump. I had the same issue on another cobra I had. I would run out of fuel around 5,000rpms and it would fall off. Wow 3rd gear huh lol he has some learning to do! Still sounds like you both had a good time and had fun.
