Im not sure if I have ever heard borla in person, although I could be wrong. Can you tell me which one has a deeper tone, and which one is overall louder?
Thanks

Borla catback is probably overall louder. Without cat converters the Borla sounds a little raspy at 2000 to 2500 rpm range, medium-heavy throttle to WOT. Everywhere else in the rpm range it sounds good IMHO
I think the Magnaflow is tamer.
But deeper as well.
For the price difference I would get the Magnaflow AND a cut-out :)
I get compliments on my Borla all the time. If you like a loud raspy sound then Borla is the way to go. Its quite at idle but when you step on it its awsome.
The Borla is louder, or quieter. Depends on which plate you have in it. Go hang out at a local drag strip and hear em for yourself.
My car came with borla and stock cats and manifolds. I put a 1 inch hole plate on it. I can try recording it so you can hear it.
I just got a 2000 SS and it has a Borla system. It was VERY loud but had no cats, once the cats were installed not as loud when idling, but loud when you step on it.
I know most people dont like flowmaster but I did a cat delete with off-road y pipe and it sounds mean as hell. very low and super aggressive with no rasp. people always ask what kind of exhaust I have
My closed Borla is quieter than my friends Magniflow. Both of us long tubes, no cats. It can go anywhere inbetween.
I love the borla cause you can get whatever sound you want, quiet as hell with the blocked off plate and extremely loud with the open plate. Glad my car came with it way to expensive for me i just wish it looked better back there. I was thinking of buying the cme and getting it custom bent to go in the middle with the cme tips. Not sure how it would go
