can AWD SUV have wet tire on rear dry on front

I’ve never owned a AWD all wheel drive vehicle but seam to remember that these vehicles require all tires to be the same is this true or false.

Main purpose for this 97x same as trailblazer is towing a 2500LB vessel 200 miles and out of sometimes slippery/steep boat ramps so the nitto performance tires won’t do for rears.

It is always best to run the same tire on all four corners. This being said, so long as the tire size is the same, lots of people run mixed brands at the same time without issue.

I'm not sure how the AWD system is set up on a trailblazer/97x, but some systems will frag themselves over time if there's even a variance in overall diameter as little as 1/4". that said, always play it safe and replace all four at the same time and be diligent about doing regular tire rotations and keep the wheel alignment in check to prevent premature wear on any particular tire(s).

so long as the tires are the same size, it doesn't matter if one is all season and one is dry.

The AWD on them is not real brutal so you can run different as long as they are same diameter.

AWD donuts are always risky, but that GMT360 platform is the first SUV ever to not have a rollover warning required. Partially due to the BS front diff thru the oil pan design, but it is a bit less risky than other SUV for some circular playtime.

the Guy at the tire store said absolutly no way his explanation was the rears would grip more and the fronts would spin basicalley trying to say the fronts and rears time of rotataion would differ

causeing transfer case to be ruined. is this a load of horse $hit?like these wheels rotation speed is monitored and adjusted though the wheel speed sensor to protect the transfer case correct?

I don't see this 5.3i this as a preformance SUV but more of a tow vehicle/grocery getter.

can you Guys suggest all 4 tires or have I allready picked a decent pair(4) of wet nittos.

mainly concerned w/ no gripe at a slippery boat ramp not preformance anymore.
