I just replaced the clutch in my 2000 camaro with a centerforce dual friction clutch, new flywheel, and new throw out bearing..... problem is....... the pedal is really low. There is NO room for error.... I do understand this is a racing clutch but its just so drastic I dont know if its right. I bled it today and no change.... please help!!!! The pedal has to be to the floor and is only at about 25%.

Unfortunately the words "Centerforce Dual Friction PROBLEM" seem to be all too common. I was considering one of these as well until I heard more feedback from the others here.
I have one and it seems to be stock height to me.
Sorry I am not more help, but I just thought you should know that that is not the norm with these clutches.
You may need to shim the slave cylinder.

That was a mean thing to say. I did my homework for 4 months and even asked on this site back between October 2005-February 2006 and NOONE gave me warning. So maybe you might want to be a little nicer to the unknowing.Quote:

NO its a crapy clutch not a racing clutch if I were you I would get a better clutch for back up when it gos like a Mcleod or stage 2+ OR 3+ SPEC Clutch. a long time ago I had a Centerforce it only lasted 2months the clutch just was'nt right and I am a good driver soon the driving was'nt my problem.

the weights on those are a joke and cause seriously bad vibrations that can eat the bearings right out of the transmission. pull it out and get a spec stage 3+ or mcleod big difference in performance.

in regards to your issue:
either try bleeding again
check the master and slave for leaks
make sure the pressure plate is securely fastened to the flywheel.
(use loctite or safety wire the bolts if the pressure plate pulled away from the flywheel)
if the pressure plate is not fastened evenly or has pulled off the flywheel the pedal will be low and finally not disengage the clutch
as stated it the slave may need to be shimmed
I do agree that depending on you future plans for HP, definitely go mcleod.
I'm currently at 432rwhp. I will go mcleod this winter when i take the car up to 900+rwhp
Textralia isn't bad either.over a year on mine and still grabs like new. 432 rwhp

Im getting ready to put another center force dual friction clutch in my Firehawk.We did it in 08 when we built the motor, it has about 70,000 miles on it. Never had a problem one with it, just think its time for a new one.
