I wouldn't think it would matter much at all as long as the windows are rolled up.
I mean really if GM was worried about it, they would have put speed limiters on all the verts, much like they do on the cars that didn't have the speed rated tires :dunno: Makes sense to me anyway.
i did 146/147 once. good enough for me. it was still pulling pretty good too.
I pegged my old vert at 160 once.
If the weather is nice enough to warrant driving fast/fun, then it's nice enough that the top should be down in the first place! So this should never be an issue!
I got my LT1 Convertible up to 145 with the top up in Mexico of course... That was about all it had it seemed.
165 here, top down, sounded like a jet engine
speedo to the peg, rpms still rising, therefore i figure it was at least 165
Never really had the 01 Camaro much over 100 since I've had her. But the z34 has seen speeds in the 130-140 range. Speedo buried @ 125, rpms @ around 7500 and climbing b4 I stepped out of it..
I love my car but been 155 in it & it feels like 170!! lol!!
girlfriends BMW @ 155 feels like 90!!!
I guess I'm lame at 125 across the Wright Memorial Bridge. The TA still had plenty of throttle but I didn't.
Pfff, I don't even care to do the speed limit most of the time. I have no interest in finding the top speed, it's rather useless anyway on public roads.
Went 135 with top up but forgot windows were down and the top was making a hell of a racket so I slowed down.
