Agreed, I got the new radiator yesterday and put it in. Moved it over a bit so the steel clamps at the top are more squarely on the stronger outside "manifolds" of the radiator so hopefully this will work. If it blows again im going to get another and sell it on ebay and buy a better one.

The only thing that can make its way into the coolant, with a bad head gasket, would be the combustion gases, or motor oil; the combustion process itself wont be able to pressurize the coolant ports in the block and heads to push any real amount of pressure into the radiator. Presuming that you...

It's a stock 6-speed & rear end, so it's a 3.42 axle ratio. The cam is either 224 or 228 duration Texas Speed bumpstick, so it's not a radical camshaft. Its feeling like a drivability issue more than a powerband issue to me, I would figure with the bump from 5.7L to 6.0L, the low-end torque...

Yes you can swap over 243 heads. BUT...... you need to measure for push rod length. Especially if you take heads to a machine shop and have them true up the surface. Highly recommend this if you get a used set. It's not hard to do. There's even a how to help thread in the Tech sticky threads.

I have a BTR Truck Norris cam kit for my truck and I'm ready to pull the motor and drill the broken manifold bolts etc.. But someone just told me about Ls6 heads on an ls1. I'm wondering if that's possible to do with the cam kit that I have because it came with lifters rods springs etc.

:lmao: I wish I got 17mph. I'm also Speed Denisty tuned. Are there any changes to the rear gear ratio? if auto did, you change the stall to deal with the new engine. iirc the cam profile affects the torque curve, and that will also affect mpg as well.
